Why you should go to Virginia’s oldest park, Kenny South Park
The oldest state park in the United States is in Virginia, and it’s a must-see if you’re looking for a good time.
Kenny South is the only park in South Carolina, but it’s only a short drive from Charlottesville.
It’s home to the park’s namesake, Kenny, a giant dog who was killed in an accident while hunting deer in the 1800s.
The park is open year-round and offers hiking, biking, and fishing in the summer, but the park is best enjoyed on the weekends.
There are plenty of other places to enjoy a weekend, too.
If you can’t make it to one of the other parks, we highly recommend checking out the Virginia State Parks website to find your next destination.
