How to avoid getting stuck at Yosemite National Park on alternate side parking
The National Park Service will now allow people to park their cars on the alternate side of the park to avoid traffic and congestion, according to a new announcement.
Starting Sunday, vehicles parked on the opposite side of Yosemite National’s main entrance will be able to park on the right of the street and remain there, regardless of traffic.
The decision comes after a slew of accidents and safety issues caused by people parking on alternate parking spots.
Park service officials have said the policy will help keep the park safe for visitors.
The change is not the only change to be made at Yosemite.
In 2018, the park announced it was expanding the number of park employees who work at the main entrance to 10 employees.
